Des Plaines Public Library, Des Plaines, IL - Des Plaines moved from its old library (which had been in service since being built in 1957) several years ago. They broke ground on a huge new downtown building on April 15, 1999 and opened the library on August 14, 2000 with a Grand Opening on September 24, 2000.
